Powerhouse Policies and Guidelines
If you are new to the Powerhouse, or are considering joining

REGISTRATION
Registration for classes will be on August 14th, from 4 - 8pm at the
Powerhouse (435 North Vernal Ave). If are from out of town, please call
781-1440 during that time. Please make sure to come or call during this time
because class size will be limited. A registration fee of $20.00 per family will be
required.
TUITION
Tuition is due on the first lesson of each month, and if not paid by the fifteenth,
a $10.00 late fee will be added. There is a $20.00 charge on all returned
checks. These fees will be automatically charged by our accounting program
and are NOT negotiable.
No class that is missed can be credited to the next month or subtracted from the
monthly payment. Tuition is the same whether you have 3 classes or 5 classes a
month. We do our best to ensure an average of 4 lessons a month are given.
TUITION WILL BE CHARGED AS FOLLOWS
30 minute class - $20.00 per month
45 minute class - $30.00 per month
60 minute class - $40.00 per month
75 minute class - $50.00 per month
90 minute class - $60.00 per month
PLEASE DO NOT COMBINE TUITION WITH COSTUME OR COMPETITION FEES
MULTIPLE CLASS DISCOUNT
$5.00 off regular tuition for second and additional classes, per student
All checks should be made out to the Powerhouse.
Additional Team Expenses
Team classes will require additional expenses for costumes, competitions and
travel.
POWERHOUSE OFFERS BOTH COMPETITIVE AND NONCOMPETITIVE
CLASSES TO MEET THE NEEDS AND ABILITY LEVELS OF ALL DANCERS.
Preferred dance shoes (may vary by team or class) can be ordered
through discountdance.com:
Ballet: 1. pink canvas Sansha 3AL
or 2. pink leather Capezio CG2002 (adult) / or CG2002C (child)
Jazz: Depending on your dance you will need one of the following:
1. Gore boots CG05 (adult) / CG05C (child) specify TAN or BLACK (NOT
CARMEL or SUNTAN). Practice shoe can be any color. Competition shoe
color choice will be determined at a later date.
2. Dance paws DPL - original / or DPP padded
DRESS CODE
Pre-Dance: Footless tight and leotards, pink ballet shoes, and black tap shoes.
No street shoes, sweats, T-shirts or baggy clothes. Hair pulled away from
face(But ponytails and clips hurt to roll on!)
Pre-Ballet: pink shoes (not the satin slippers). Shoes must fit like sock! Pink
tights and pink leotard.
Ballet classes: pink shoes, black leotard, pink tights, short wrap-around skirt
(optional), NO BOXERS, SWEATS, OR SHIRTS. Hair must be in a bun or
pinned up. PLEASE respect the art of ballet. No jazz/gore boots or dance paws.
Jazz Classes: Any color tights and leotards or jazz pants. Black or Tan jazz
shoes are also needed. No street shoes, bare feet, sweats, T-shirts, or baggy
clothes. Hair pulled away from face.
Clogging: Street clothes are allowed and black clogging shoes clogging shoes.
Pre-Dance Combo Tumbling: Any color leotards and footless tights. Form
fitting clothes such as tank tops and bikers. Have bare feet. No baggy clothes!
Pull hair back, braids preferred. (Ponytails and clips hurt to roll on!)
Hip Hop: Any moveable dance or work out attire, tennis shoes should be worn.
OBSERVATION
Pre-School - The first lesson of every month will be set aside as parent
observation week. This is the only day parents/visitors will be allowed in class.
Please leave small children at home.
All other Classes - Observation will be allowed. BUT. . . Please refrain from
talking and visiting - it is very distracting. PLEASE don't allow small children to
run around or be disruptive.
